My Japan friend Tkyosam recently detoured from his life adventure in Japan to engage in a life adventure in the USA. He came to Los Angeles to participate in a lifestyle event with several media influencers. At first, I thought this effort an unworthy distraction from Sam's quite interesting niche and activities in Tokyo. However, after watching just a few minutes of a YouTube Live he did from a friend's apartment in Tokyo (Sam's back in Japan for a month) I realized that what I thought Sam had left behind in Tokyo was still there any waiting for him...only that he returned a much different and richer man for the experience. Going to America was not a life diversion as much as a treasure-seeking expedition; as Sam has acquired so much intangible wealth from his detour as to make him a far more interesting and compelling a figure than ever before.
