Day five: Today has been a tough day. I just couldn’t square my mind into it. Troublesome thoughts all morning and into the afternoon. However, I did not let that stop me from having a “good” day; where goodness is simply the successful fulfillment of my role and responsibilities in life. This mood will pass. That is the nature of moods—to pass. So now, I’ll reluctantly run myself into the cold sea. This’ll do the trick, I’m sure. It always does. But not just running into a cold sea. But running into anything seemingly unpleasant, but which is actually good for us. Like running into eating less, or running into the day before dawn, or running into courtesy even when our mood may be foul. Out the other side is the exhilaration of having persevered through something hard, which is almost always the best remedy for a bad day or a foul mood or a worried and troubled mind.
