Miho Beach House in Shimizu, Japan

Address:

  • Japanese: 〒424-0905 静岡県静岡市清水区駒越西 2-9-22

  • English: 2-chōme-9-22 Komagoenishi, Shimizu Ward, Shizuoka, 424-0905, Japan

Here’s a house I hope to see, with a bit of a twist. It’s in a nice and very old area which I know well and have visited often and really like. And the house is inexpensive and in pretty good shape. There’s one, slight problem… Apparently, this area is haunted by many ghosts. Like I said, it’s an area that’s been inhabited by people for a very long time; fishermen and their families who, for centuries, perhaps millennia, have lived and died here. Apparently, the ghosts of this old community, especially those who were drown at sea, are supposedly wandering everywhere here. Personally, I’m all for living in a haunted house or upon haunted ground, and for this reason alone this property gets three thumbs up for the sake of pure interest alone—and I hope we can visit the house on day four of our upcoming trip to Japan next week.
